Did you know that it only takes a couple of pieces of personal information taken from your garbage to steal your identity? Protect your private information by bringing your unwanted documents to any of our October Shred-a-Thons. Bring your old documents and we will shred and recycle them free of charge. No appointment is necessary.
Each of our Shred-a-Thon events will run from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or until the truck is full (if prior to 1:00 p.m.) at the following branches:
|27th Avenue Branch||Saturday, October 9th|
|Kendall Branch||Saturday, October 16th|
|Miami Lakes Branch||Saturday, October 23rd|
|Homestead Branch||Saturday, October 30th|
This is a contactless event. Please remain in your car, and an EdFed employee will remove your boxes from your trunk to have them shredded, as you watch from the comfort of your vehicle.
EdFed members may bring up to 4 boxes (12" x 18") of paper for shredding. Items that will be accepted include:
- Credit union/bank statements
- Cancelled checks
- Old tax records
- Debit/credit card receipts, pay stubs and other sensitive paperwork/documents
Please remember to remove staples, paper clips and metal fasteners. Trash bags, oversized boxes, plastics, CD's, DVD's, x-rays, 3 ring binders, hard substances, business or commercial materials will not be accepted. Shredding is provided free of charge to EdFed members only. ID is required.
