Join us for one of our upcoming Kids Savings Account enrollment events hosted by EdFed's mascot, Eddy the Owl. With an EdFed savings account, you can help your child learn to save with the credit union dedicated to serving students throughout our educational community.

When your child opens an EdFed savings account, they will enjoy benefits designed to help them learn, grow, and succeed:

  • No monthly maintenance fees1

Documents required to establish membership:

Ages 17 & under2

  • Original, photocopy, or digital copy (e.g., photo) of Social Security Card
  • One form of valid ID
    • US driver's license
    • US state ID
    • Government-issued passport (including foreign passport)
    • Resident Alien ID
    • US Military ID
    • Original/Certified Copy of Birth Certificate
    • Current year School ID
  • Proof of physical address, if not listed on ID (e.g., Educational institution transcript forms for the current school year or proof of physical address in the parent's name)
  • Minors ages 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian2

Ages 18 +

  • One form of valid ID
    • US driver's license
    • US state ID
    • Government-issued passport (including foreign passport)
    • Resident Alien ID
    • US Military ID
  • Proof of physical address, if not listed on ID (e.g., Utility bill, bank or credit card statement, automobile insurance policy, etc.)

1 If you have not made a withdrawal from, deposit to, or transfer involving your account for more than one (1) year, the Credit Union may classify your account as a dormant account. The Credit Union imposes a monthly service fee for continuing to process your dormant account as set forth on the Service Fee Schedule.

2 Minors under the age of 13 must have a joint owner on the account.
